Scene (a play scene)

A single, contained session of negotiated play between partners, with a beginning, middle and end.

In kink, a scene is one bounded episode of play, agreed in advance and with a clear start and finish. A scene might involve rope, impact, role play or any combination, and is shaped by the limits and safeword set during negotiation. The word is borrowed from theatre, reflecting that a scene is a deliberate, framed experience rather than something open-ended. Aftercare usually follows once a scene ends.
