Power exchange is the consensual handing of authority from a submissive to a dominant. It is the engine of D/s relationships and can be confined to a single scene or extend across a whole relationship. The amount of power exchanged is agreed between partners and can be small or far reaching. Because it relies entirely on consent and trust, the submissive always retains the ultimate power to withdraw.
