D/s (Dominance and submission)

A relationship or dynamic built around one partner leading and another yielding, by mutual consent.

D/s, short for Dominance and submission, describes dynamics centred on power exchange rather than physical play alone. A D/s relationship might involve agreed rituals, rules, protocols or roles, and can be part time or a constant feature of a relationship. The lower case s reflects a long standing convention of capitalising the dominant and lower casing the submissive. As with all kink, D/s rests on negotiation, consent and trust.
