Primal play strips back the structured, ritual side of kink in favour of raw instinct: chasing, wrestling, pinning, growling, scratching and biting. People who identify as primal often describe acting from a more animal part of themselves, whether as a predator or prey. It can be combined with power exchange but feels less formal and more visceral. As energetic, physical play, it still relies on negotiation, limits and a safeword.
